Mimic VFX emerges as an extension of Mimic Productions' work, an award-winning 3D animation studio, that specializes in high-quality digital humans and characters, offering motion capture, scanning, character modeling, facial rigging, animation, AI integration, and creating 3D assets for the metaverse and XR.
About Our Founder
David Bennett is a visionary in the field of visual effects with over 30 years of experience shaping the future of digital performance. As the manager of the Facial Motion Capture department at Weta Digital, his groundbreaking work was central to the success of James Cameron's Avatar, The Adventures of Tintin, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. His extensive filmography also includes work on The Polar Express, Monster House, and Beowulf.
Driven by a passion to merge technology with authentic human performance, David founded MIMIC to create a studio that prioritizes artistry and innovation in equal measure. Today, he leads the MIMIC VFX team, inspiring them to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible in visual storytelling.
